Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm taking this week off, but I am planning a post for December 14th on horses in Celtic culture and folklore.
Whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, here's a brief reflection in the spirit of the day. Celtic spirituality teaches that everything has a spark of the divine in it, thus, all is blessing, everything is a gift. Take some time now and then to reflect on all the gifts that enrich your life. My list is very long. Here are just a few things I'm thankful for.
In addition to the obvious (life, health, the people I love and who love me), I am thankful for dogs, cats, horses, and well, just animals. There's such a variety of them and they're fascinating and really cool even the creepy (bugs) or scary (snakes) ones. I'm also thankful for autumn, the turning of the leaves, windy days, cool weather, and (since I live in Florida) the lower humidity that comes in Fall. And, since I'm currently dealing with a bout of bronchitis, I'm especially thankful for menthol in chest rubs and cough drops. Having something that soothes my cough and helps me breathe is a big gift!
And you are a big gift to me too. Thank you for reading! I wish you joy, health, and peace.
Christine
